Belated birthday night out

Because my real birthday is too close to New Year’s hangovers, we gathered a few people at The Builders Arms pub in South Kensington last night to acknowledge the fact that I’ve survived my fourth decade. It was a little worrying at the start when they didn’t have our table booking. But in the end we got a place, people showed up, we all had a laugh, no one got arrested, and I, at least, had a good time.
