A day on the boat

V’s been promising to take us out on his motorboat for some time; today it finally happened.

We drove with him up to Apple Tree Bay, in the Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park about half an hour north of Sydney, and met some other Canadian friends of his there. It took us about half an hour on the boat to get out to Patonga Beach – there was a bit of choppy wave action going on, and it was very busy on the water – but it was worth the trip. It’s a lovely spot, not too busy, and there’s an amazing pub there. We had a great lunch, and I had some of the fattest, juiciest oysters ever.

Great way to kill a sweltering Sunday.
