Walking to the pub

We had planned to meet PC at excellent neighbourhood pub The Bird in Hand yesterday afternoon. In what must surely be an example of maintaining perfect equilibrium we decided to walk there – just south of Shepherd’s Bush – from Chiswick. And not directly, either, but along the Thames.

That turns out to be just shy of 10km, which made for some guilt-free pints*. It was a good afternoon for it, not too cool, not too hot. And the walk goes through several different areas: green park edges, sports grounds, residential neighbourhoods, riverside pubs, and finally up through Hammersmith.

*Not that I’m typically kept up at night by having a frosty lager on a Sunday aft.
