Night with the neighbour

Both the Neighbour and I were without our wives last night, they being elsewhere for different reasons.

I took advantage of the opportunity to grill some salt and sage pork belly, served on rocket, and have a glass or two of red wine whilst watching the Red Nose Day broadcast on the BBC. I followed that up with some Guitar Hero (I like how the encores and “boss” characters mix up the regular flow of practice and career).

Then I met up with the aforementioned Neighbour and we hit Crispins Wine Bar. It was lively: someone was having a birthday party. Someone was making use of the two pianos in the place to have a proper singalong. And they even let the Neighbour – who hadn’t eaten – have for free some of the plentiful birthday buffet.

After a few glasses of red there we hit the newly refurbed King’s Arms. It’s still a bit odd in there. Just change, I guess.

Good night.
