Qype night at Chilango

I was invited to another Qype night tonight: this one for the opening of Chilango, a Mexican food restaurant in Islington. It used to be called Mucho Mas, but has been rebranded and reopened. And it is pretty good.

You can read my review of the place here: in short they do tasty, big portion Mexican food for eat-in or takeaway. Better than fast food, not so formal as fancy dining. Grab a burrito the next time you’re near Angel.

Tonight’s invite-only do was a lot of fun. A couple dozen of us had our own area upstairs with lots of snacks, a free burrito each (more than most could finish), and all the beers and margeritas we wanted.

And that wasn’t all: a rep from tequila company José Cuervo gave us a talk on how that liquor is made, and then let us try a few types. The José Cuervo Reserva De La Familia was really good: I’ve never had quality tequila on its own before, and it was really spicy and warm and nice.

Thanks, Qype.
