Seagate 320GB FreeAgent Go: nice portable hard drive

My old hard drive has been showing signs of packing it in. It had already died once two years ago (but I got it repaired under warranty), and now it’s sometimes showing problems during scans.

So last week I ordered a new external backup drive. I got a Seagate FreeAgent Go, 320GB. It is one sweet little piece of hardware, and for a really good price (I got it for £65 via an Amazon.co.uk seller, but I already had £15 of Amazon credit to go towards that). The only downsides are plastic packaging that takes some effort to penetrate and unnecessary file management software that’s simple to bypass or remove.
