Missing my vote

I’m Canadian, though I don’t live in Canada. I’m registered as an overseas voter, which means they post me ballots with which to vote. And there’s an election coming up in Canada.

However, it seems that I might have forgotten to update my UK address with the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, or they missed my last update. I got an email that they’ve posted me my ballot, though I’ve not received it. This probably means it’s gone to my old address. I’m not sure there’s enough time now to get my info changed and have a new ballot sent that would make it back in time (the election’s on 14 October).

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think I did send the fax form that updates my address. Not that it matters: however it happened, I’m disenfranchised this time around.

Want me to impersonate you? I could dye my hair and be eating a pork chop with my bare hands when I walked into the polling station.
