Mega dinner party

Mega because of the food, not the number of people, which was a very reasonable seven.

The She-Aussie’s parents (whom we met on a trip to see Miss B a few years ago) are visiting the UK for the first time in a long time. We had a dinner party for them last night. PC came over earlier in the day and C made a huge feast whilst the rest of us assisted.

Wow, it was good. And immense. Veggies and dip. Olives. Tiny cheese and olive tarts. Sweet peppers stuffed with Boursin cheese. Saucisson sec. Beetroot mousse with cumin and chives. Smoked trout, horseradish, and creme fraiche in pastry shells. Fresh figs with cream cheese wrapped in parma ham. Smoked buffalo cheese melted on stonebaked bread. I’m sure I’m forgetting something. We didn’t even make it to the potatoes and chorizo. Ginger cake, chocolate mousse with raspberries, and cream cheese tarts for afters.

We have lots of leftovers, which is not a bad thing.

It was a very good time, too. Nice to see everyone again.

    Wish I was there. Sigh.
Food sounds like it was excellent – go PC!
